Board Meeting

CUPS is still very much alive and is continuing its essential ministry. As we continue to miss Louise's passion and leadership, we are constantly reminded of the legacy she left behind. A legacy of courage and caring for our neighbors in need across the border. For the past few months, the CUPS board of directors has been diligently working to carry on this legacy. We have engaged Fidencio Perez, a long time CUPS staff member and supporter, to help with donation distribution and project supervision in northeastern Mexico. He will be assuming many of the duties that Louise performed in Mexico. 

With Fidencio's leadership, we have already distributed most of the remaining donations and have completed three projects started by Louise.

School supplies delivered to children

The roof at the Carolina Balboa USAER was repaired, the classroom at the Saul Aguilar Primaria school was replaced and a much needed shelter for holding meetings at the health clinic in Empalme was recently completed. Louise would have been so proud that these projects were finished.

Fidencio will continue to identify needy recipients for donated materials and make the deliveries to them as well as scope out additional project work for consideration.
